Greetings Expeditioners,
At this time, we are unfortunately announcing that we will be canceling our June event. It is our hope that things normalize enough for us to still run our Fall events, but frankly, we are less than optimistic for that outcome.
So what does this mean for all of you in regards to our game?
First, we are again allowing players to either donate their payments to Tolgy Wood, roll the payment forward to the next available date, or simply receive your payment back in the form of a refund. Please let us know what you would like to do with your payment by Friday, May 29th, or we will default to issuing a refund.
We know that some other games have offered more of an online presence during this time, with services such as livestreams and online roleplay days. Unfortunately, our staff has overwhelmingly agreed that these are not things that we feel comfortable or equipped to execute on. We are not ruling out some remote content, especially if the rest of the year does not pan out, but by and large we have decided it best to simply pause the in-game setting until the game can be resumed in earnest.
Finally as far as the timeline of our remaining events, we want to be up front that we are planning to bring the story to an end by 2021. It is very important to us that Sins of a Nation: the Sixth Kingdom comes to a thorough and satisfying end, however we also need to balance this with a number of life events on the part of staff that are being held up so long as the game continues to run, so we cannot extend it out indefinitely.
It was estimated that we had roughly 6-8 events of content in the current plotlines left to wrap everything up. The plan is still to conclude the game at the end of 2021, regardless if we continue to lose 2020 events. It is our current belief that while we will have to reorder and condense some things, we will still be able to pull this off in a satisfactory manner.
What happens if Covid-19 is still an active threat in 2021? Frankly, no one is prepared to envision that scenario at this point. Needless to say we will need to revise this plan if it comes to that, and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we do.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and know that we miss you all.
